Established in the 1940’s, Waltanna Farms is a family business at the foot of the Grampians in south-west Victoria. They were certified organic in 1998 and produce a new golden variety of flaxseed, Waltanna Gold. This has proven even more appealing to the consumer than the common brown variety.
Through their innovative research and engineering work, Waltanna Australia has designed and manufactured much of the specialist processing equipment in their new plant. This also enabled them to find the secret to expelling the oil at a very low temperature in the absence of oxygen and light. Adding a processing and bottling plant has given the infrastructure to grow, process, bottle and market. All produced direct from the farm, maintaining control over quality, purity and freshness.
As part of this innovation, Waltanna has installed 5 x PremSPEED Rapid Auto-Roll Doors to adhere to the strict guidelines of production at their facility. The PremSPEED features purpose designed seals in the side guides, and a full width rubber profile for bottom seal, which provides optimum sealing for prevention of pest ingress.
Due to the specialist equipment brought into the facility, four of the doors installed required an achievable MIN clear opening height of 6350mm. Premier Door Systems were able to achieve this requirement through the PremSPEED Rapid Auto-Roll Door model, and combine high operating speeds of the door, with standard safety features which include an integrated safety light curtain grid.
