Such is the case with Woolworths Supermarkets, the largest supermarket chain in Australia.
To keep up with the increasing demand for online services, Woolworths built a 2400sqm eStore in Melbourne’s southeast. This facility is specifically designed to facilitate the quicker delivery of online orders, being able to support up to 10,000 grocery products. Woolworths deployed the new micro-automation technology, becoming the first retailer in Australia to do so. This has helped them manage thousands of online orders each week, and then deliver the goods to customers.
Woolworths also partnered with us at Premier Door Systems. Our task was to deploy the best door solutions to assist with the efficiency of the facility. Premier Door Systems supplied PremECONO doors and PremIMPACT doors, as the best solution for the unique requirements of this location.
PremECONO Doors
PremECONO rapid roller doors are constructed from a smooth tear-stop poly weave PVC material that makes them easy to clean. The anodised aluminium side frames allow them to withstand strong wind resistance. These doors also come with clear see-through panels that allow safe two-way vision. This helps ensure that these doors are safe even in high traffic areas.
Operated by the Premier Door Systems Control System, PremECONO doors have motion and safety radars to protect both staff and the products. The fast opening speeds that reach up to 1.0-1.5m/sec also help make this approach more efficient as waiting time for the door to be activated is kept to a minimum.
PremIMPACT Doors
PremIMPACT doors are high-impact thermal traffic doors ideal for heavy-duty use in high-traffic areas. Constructed of a durable 4mm thick proprietary ABS type surface, PremIMPACT is incredibly durable and resistant to scratches, dents and chemical damage. It is also core filled to provide great insulation properties, so there is minimal temperature loss and reduced energy consumption.
PremIMPACT doors automatically close from either direction. There is also an adjustable bottom jack to account for height variance, with a hemispherical pivot that compensates for floor irregularities.
